A Reflection on Time, Energy, and What We Choose to Do Differently

The Present

  • Pause.
  • Take a breath.
  • You’re here. And that means you’ve been given a gift—time

Not everyone gets the chance to reflect while still in motion. But if you’re reading this, you do. So, ask yourself:

  • Knowing what you know now, with all of life’s experiences behind you…

What would you do differently start today?

  • Why do we wait for a crisis—a missed opportunity, a health scare, a loss—to ask this question? Why must reflection be triggered by disruption?
  • Let’s flip the script.
  • Let’s make reflection a daily ritual, not a reaction.

The Past

Ask yourself:

  • I wish I would have __________
  • I would have spent less time __________
  • I would have spent more time __________
  • I would have __________
  • I would have focused more on/ less on __________
  • I would have worried more/less about __________

This is about growth.

  • You did the best you could with what you had.
  • But now? You have: More wisdom. More clarity. More choice.
  • So, take those “I would have” statements and turn them into your future non-negotiables.

The Focus

  • We can’t manage time—it marches on.
  • But we can manage our energy
  • Who or what is receiving your attention?
  • If your battery feels drained, check the “apps running in the background” of your life.

Suggestions:

  • Start your day tech-free for one hour
  • Eat lunch without screens
  • Disable push notifications
  • Leave devices out of meals and bedrooms
  • Delete distracting apps or move them to browser-only
  • Switch your phone to grayscale

And most importantly, connect the feeling behind the habit:

  • Feeling lonely? → Call a friend
  • Feeling stuck at work? → Create a new opportunity
  • Feeling overwhelmed by the world? → Do something grounding
  • Feeling bored? → Spend time with your own thoughts

In a world full of noise, boredom isn’t a problem—it’s a portal.

It’s where your deepest thoughts live.

It’s where transformation begins.
